Celebrating Christmas & New Year at Waterford
Celebrating Christmas & New Year at Waterford
We hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Christmas and New Year surrounded by family, friends and loved ones. As we look back, it is hard to believe how quickly 2025 passed by. After such a busy season filled with celebrations, laughter and connection, it is now time to relax, enjoy the quieter moments and look forward to making the most of every day in 2026.
Once again, our much-loved Village Christmas Party was a highlight of the festive season. It was a wonderful opportunity for residents, staff and friends to come together and celebrate the year in true Waterford style.
The Community Lodge was beautifully decorated, with the staff creating a warm and festive atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. Each resident received a special bonbonniere jar filled with delicious treats, including rocky road and white Christmas, as well as a heartfelt Christmas card created especially for them by the children from St Joseph’s Catholic School. These beautiful cards, filled with personal messages, drawings and thoughtful words, are always treasured by our residents and are a wonderful reminder of the connection between generations.
The celebrations continued with a delicious festive buffet prepared by Nick and Jan from the café. The wonderful food, combined with great company and plenty of conversation, made for a truly memorable day.
Adding to the excitement was a very special visitor — Santa! His arrival brought plenty of smiles, laughter and photo opportunities as residents happily joined in the festive fun.
On Christmas Day, some of our residents gathered together in the Community Lodge to enjoy a delicious three-course meal delivered especially for the occasion. It was a lovely opportunity for company, good conversation and to celebrate together.
One of the truly special things about life at Waterford is knowing that, on occasions such as Christmas Day, residents always have the opportunity to connect with others and share these important moments together. No one needs to spend these special occasions alone, with friendships and community always close by.
New Year’s Eve was another wonderful celebration at Waterford. Residents gathered together to enjoy tasty treats, great conversation, plenty of laughter and dancing as they welcomed in 2026 while watching the spectacular Sydney fireworks over our magnificent harbour.
The evening was made even more special thanks to one of our talented resident couples, who entertained everyone with their singing and helped create a fantastic atmosphere for all to enjoy.
It was a beautiful way to finish the year — celebrating friendship, community and the wonderful connections that make Waterford such a special place to call home.
